WA’s Robotic Welding Experts Since 1988
As WA’s leader in robotic welding, Bossong Engineering is at the forefront of technological advancements in the industry. From its original robot installation in 1988, Bossong Engineering has thrived and currently operates 17 robots to fabricate an extensive array of products for a wide range of industries. No one else in Western Australia can claim the same longevity in working with robotics.
While it is fairly standard to use robotics for single of high volume components, at Bossong we use robotics for jobbing, so it is possible to do 50-100 components accurately and efficiently to provide cost savings.
We love to work with our clients to get the best use out of robotics for their projects. At conceptual design stage we can assist with the design solution by helping to tweak the design to make it more conducive to the use of robotics.
Our robotic capabilities are specifically programmed and configured for flexible manufacturing using our own sophisticated robotic welding systems. This allows for the robot to be programmed quickly and easily to weld virtually any configuration in a variety of materials.
We also do robotic plasma cutting which allows us to cut through metals of various thicknesses. The unique properties of plasma allow the robot to move through the material easily.
Other Robotic specifications
- Most robot systems are fitted with Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG) systems. Pulse welding power sources perform high quality spatter free welding on carbon steel, various grades of stainless steel, aluminum and exotic materials with the ability to employ GTAW and Plasma welding when required.
- Hot wire tig welding. Bossong Engineering is accredited for ‘stub welding’ for a large international drilling company using the hot wire tig process. This process involves over 20 variables and provides an extremely high quality weld with minimal dilution as well as a small heat affected zone.
Robotic capabilities
- Our unique service allows you to outsource medium-to-large runs of repetitive fabrication and welding, confident in the knowledge that work will be performed on time, within budget and to the levels of quality and consistency you require
- Robotic services provide precise welds of uniform size and quantity, as well as constant uniform heat input, minimising distortion
- Improved productivity
- Reduced welding personnel fatigue coupled with improved safety
- Improved structural quality and turnaround times
Our team of welding experts includes an international weld engineer and senior welding inspectors who are trained to use the robots for the best outcome. As a result, Bossong’s robotic welding systems will reduce your costs, increase your capacity and provide you with a quality, accurate product.
