The PTA Repair Masters
Bossong Engineering is Australia’s market leader in the repair of non-magnetic tools in the oil and gas industry. We have extended this knowledge to the defence sector.
During the plasma transferred arc process a cladding is deposited on critical tools and components which stops premature wear and erosion. This application prolongs the lifespan of the tools and delays the need for their replacement.
Bossong Engineering has been applying Plasma Transferred Arc (PTA) methods since 1995. Uniquely, we use robotic systems to apply our cladding ensuring an accurate end product.
Our unique ability to salvage non-magnetic parts that would have previously been scrapped is a major cost benefit to clients producing substantial savings in terms of tool replacement costs and the associated downtime.
What makes Bossong Engineering unique is our innovation in blending our powders, our use of state of the art robots and our stringent controls and procedures.
We can help with:
- Complete material overlays on thin non-magnetic parts to ensure reduced wear and extended part life
- Resizing tools such as stabilisers through the weld metal overlay process to apply uniform metal deposits on the base metal to a thickness of over 2 inches
- Repairing string/near bit stabilisers, sleeves, and other specialised directional drilling wear parts
- Manufacture custom wear plates
- Clad valve components
- Wear protection to ground engagement tools
- Pump shaft sleeves
- Wear plates
